Mandatory Coaches Meeting
Sunday, August 24th from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Kinder Park (more location information TBD). We’ll have a quick clinic coaches briefing at 5:00 p.m. followed by coaches training at 5:30 p.m. Coaches training will be presented by Ryan Parisi, the Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at Severna Park High School and NSCAA Associate Staff Instructor.
Participants will receive NSCAA Level 1 course credit. This year you MUST pre-register at: http://www.nscaa.com/course-registration/6136 and enter the promo code GSP824L1 and Green Hornets will cover the required enrollment fee for GH volunteers.
I plan on distributing uniforms and other items at this meeting. At least one coach per team must attend the session.

If anyone is interested in serving as the U5 LC, please let me know ASAP. We all plan on conducting our drafts/working rosters by mid-August, with the goal of presenting to coaches by Wednesday, August 20th. We will ask coaches to contact their families no later than Sunday, August 24th.

County Background Check
All GH coaches must be registered through Anne Arundel County’s Background Check Program. The LC’s will be verifying this. If you are not registered and listed in the database, please do so immediately. Info is available at: http://www.aacounty.org/recparks/background/#.U9gTzLH-sdo.
Note – you can ignore the “clinic” column as that is only required of volunteer coaches in County leagues. The “background” column is the one of concern for GH clinic soccer.
Practice and Game Schedule
All teams will practice on Wednesdays at Cypress Creek at the following times:
U4 4:30-5:15 pm
U5 5:30- 6:15 pm
U6 6:30-7:15 pm
Adjustments to above times will be made as the season progresses to accommodate daylight savings time
All teams will play games on Saturdays at Cypress Creek at the following times:
U4 9:00-10:00 am
U5 10:30-11:30 am
U6 12:00-1:00 pm

Our first games are scheduled for Saturday, September 6th, with last games on Saturday, November 1st.
Picture Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 27th at Cypress Creek.
Wednesday evening practices will start on Wednesday, September 3rd, with a meet and greet night scheduled at the Cypress Creek fields on Wednesday, August 27th.
I’ll be looking for volunteer help to set up and initially line the Cypress Creek fields well before then.
Uniforms
We have switched uniform vendors this year, and all players will be wearing MLS team jerseys by Adidas with the Green Hornets logo. They are of superior quality – something your players will definitely love to wear off the field.
I plan to distribute team uniforms to coaches at our August 24th coaches meeting.
As part of this new Soccer Post supplier contract, all Green Hornets families will receive 15% off all items at their retail stores – 489 Ritchie Highway in the Severna Park Market Center (next to Brian Boru Pub) in Severna Park and 19 Lincoln Court in Annapolis. Families just need to mention they are with the Green Hornets program at checkout to receive the discount. Green Hornets volunteer coaches will receive a 20% discount off all items (mention at checkout) – I hope to have discount cards to distribute to you later as well.
