Currently, the Hurricanes play in the top level Division in the Anne Arundel Youth Soccer Association (AAYSA).  Following the 2013 Spring Season, where they were crowned Division 2 AAYSA Champions, they moved up a division to the more challenging Division One, where they have been consistently improving and have become very competitive against this level of competition.  As the team continues to gain more experience, they will explore the possibility of switching leagues again to better match the girls' level of play to allow for the proper degree of competition and growth.  The Hurricanes also participate in one or two tournaments per season and play Winter Futsal.

The Hurricanes focus on skill development and teamwork and have a long history of promoting players to our organization’s higher level teams, Fury and Lightning.

Our coaching team brings a strong pedigree to the Hurricanes.  Head Coach John Zaniker has been a coach in the Green Hornets organization for 8 years coaching at all levels from Clinic Soccer to U11 Select.  Coach Zadock Cropper, a MSYSA E Licensed Coach, brings many years of experience coaching at all levels building the fundaments of good team play and strategy.  Coach Rick Engelfried, a former collegiate player at then Nationally ranked James Madison University, provides top level insight and training, including specialized Goalie training throughout the season, which has helped develop several of our systems top goaltenders.  Coach Lauren Carbo utilizes her expertise in fitness training to provide specialized cardio training to help develop our girls physically.  This past Spring, the team also received professional training from Coerver coach Brian Morgan, Head coach for the Severna Park High School JV team, a relationship they hope to continue into next season.

The Hurricanes are trained in an atmosphere to promote the love of sports and soccer in particular.  Many of our players are active in other sports and other activities and we make every effort to accommodate these activities.  We practice twice per week starting a month prior to season start and play Futsal in the off seasons with occasional practices to continue our skill development.
